Random Cards Guide

Random Cards is a Trading Card Game played on IRC, and scripted by Five. Find the answers to the most frequently asked questions here.

What is Random Cards?

Random Cards is a trading card game played over Intenet Relay Chat. Players can collect cards each day and can trade them with each other.

Where can I play?

Come to #cardgame on the DarkIRC network at irc.dark-future.org
You need a registered nick to play
If One is around just type @register in a private message with him.

What's the objective of the game?

If you complete a set of cards you can exchange them for a place in the Hall of Fame. A full set is 20 cards. It will be recorded that you completed those sets.

Which card sets are in the game?
Find the complete list here.

How do I trade cards with other players?

Simply by typing the following commands in either the channel, or in PM with the game bot.
To put a card up for trade, type @trade [card name] e.g. @trade Batman
You can put up to 5 cards up together with @trade card1,card2,card3
(Note the lack of spaces after each comma, this is important so that the game understands you)

To offer someone a card in return for their proposed trade, type @offer [nick] [card name] e.g. @offer Five Wolverine
You can offer up to 5 cards in return with @offer [nick] card1,card2,card3 etc.

To accept someones offer just type @accept [nick] e.g. @accept Five
You don't need to reject anyones offer, simply don't accept them if you arent interested.

How do I know which cards people want?

You can type @want [text] to state what you're looking for. You can put any text here, but a set name is suggested.

You can type @check [player] to check what that player's stated want is.

You can also check through all the wants for a certain phrase by using @check for [text] e.g. @check for Simpsons or @check for Batman - this will search everyones wants for that phrase and tell you the results.

Like nearly all of the commands, these work in both the channel and in PM with the bot.

How do I get rid of a card I don't want?

You can @burn any card you don't want. It will be gone forever.

How can I see what cards I have?

Type @list to see a full list of your cards.
To specify certain sets to list, type @list set1,set2,set3 e.g. @list X-Men,Halo
To omit certain sets from your list, type @list without set1,set2,set3

RULES

1. Only one account per player
2. Don't give all your cards away to someone else
3. Don't ask someone to register just so that you can have their cards

Any cards acquired "illegitimately" may just disappear.
